LinkSweep Privacy Policy

Effective 28 October 2026. This policy covers the LinkSweep – Broken Link Checker extension for Google Chrome, made by Aaron Benson, Melbourne, Australia.

What LinkSweep does

When you click Scan this page, LinkSweep reads the links on the page you are viewing and sends a request to each link’s address to see whether it works. Those requests go directly from your browser to the linked websites. The results are kept in your browser only, and are cleared when you leave or close the page.

What we collect

LinkSweep does not collect, store, sell or share your browsing history, the content of pages you visit, or your scan results. It contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code.

LinkSweep Pro

Payments for LinkSweep Pro are handled by Stripe, under Stripe’s own privacy policy. We never see your card details. To unlock Pro, the extension sends the email address you enter to our licence server, which asks Stripe whether that email has an active LinkSweep Pro subscription. Your email is used only to provide Pro and support, and is never sold or shared.

Permissions

LinkSweep asks for access to websites so it can check links that point to any site. It only uses this access when you click Scan, and only to check the links on that page.
